The Health Department director-general, Datuk Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the number of measles cases in the Malaysia trebled as of September this year. From 195 cases (6.6 per million population) in 2013, to 235 cases (7.8 million per population) in 2014, to 602 cases (26.3 million per population) in 2015. These epidemics involve several caring institutions, schools and detention centres, and most cases occur among infants and children, aged six years and below.
